Frequently Asked Questions
Can I claim under NDIS?
Yes, the calming vest is eligible for NDIS claims under Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS funds. To claim, simply check out and order as usual. You'll receive an email with your NDIS receipt, which you can send to your plan manager or use for self-managed claims.
Does the calming vest tire my child?
The calming vest uses deep pressure therapy (DPT) to enhance body awareness without restricting mobility. It's designed to provide comfort, not to stop movement or tire your child out.
How long does it take to see improvements in my child's behavior?
Most parents notice a positive change in their child's behavior within 15 minutes. In some cases, it may take 3-4 hours (with breaks) of wearing the vest to see a noticeable difference.
How long should my child wear the vest?
We recommend an on-off approach. Have your child wear the calming vest for 15-30 minutes, then remove it for 1-3 hours to prevent the nervous system from adapting to the sensation. Repeat as needed.
How do I know if it fits correctly?
The vest should fit snugly but comfortably, offering gentle pressure without limiting movement or causing discomfort. Ensure there's enough room for your child to breathe easily and move their arms freely.
